Hillary: Shame on you, Barack Obama!

Presidentvalskampanjen hettade precis till ordentligt. Clinton anklagar Obama för ett reklamblad om hennes stöd till frihandelsavtalet NAFTA.

“Shame on you, Barack Obama,” Mrs. Clinton said at a news conference after a morning rally, holding the flyers and shaking them in the air as she spoke. “It is time you ran a campaign consistent with your messages in public. That’s what I expect from you. Meet me in Ohio. Let’s have a debate about your tactics and your behavior in this campaign.”

“Time and time again, you hear one thing in speeches and then you see a campaign that has the worst kind of tactics, reminiscent of the same sort of Republican attacks on Democrats,” Mrs. Clinton said.

I reklambladet hävdas det att Clinton sagt att:

Nafta was a “boon” to the economy.

Citatet kommer ifrån en Newsday-artikel där man inte citerat Clinton och ordet ”boon” är uppenbart inte hennes.

Obamas kampanj försvarar reklambladet:

Bill Burton, a spokesman for Mr. Obama, said in an e-mail message, “Everything in those mailers is completely accurate.”

He added: “We look forward to having a debate this Tuesday on the facts, and the facts are that Senator Clinton was a supporter of NAFTA and the China permanent trade treaties until this campaign began.”

Ett avgörande i presidentvalet väntas tisdagen den 4 mars då bland annat Ohio och Texas röstar. Vinner inte Clinton båda dessa stater och helst stort är det kört.
